One of the primary benefits of adding an enclosed porch to your home is the fact that you can now enjoy this space even when the weather is on the warmer, and cooler, side of the spectrum. While the appeal might seem great at first, it doesn’t take long for this part of your home to also get cluttered, dusty and straight up messy.

When the time finally comes, the last thing that you want is for the enclosed area that you’ve invested into look messy when people do finally come over. Today we’re going to cover a few of the quick things that you can do to clean up this space before anyone comes over.

Clean up Clutter

It’s incredibly easy for us to let clutter build up in a space, but it’s also one of the primary reasons that an area can look so messy. The first thing that you’re going to want to do is go through and find the clutter that’s building up in this space and put it back to the spaces that it belongs in. Just doing this should open up a ton of space in this area and immediately make it look cleaner.

If there are things in the area that don’t have a place to get put away, and it appears that they’re creating clutter, then one of the first things that you’ll want to do is find a method of organizing them so that it doesn’t look messy. Even if you have to invest in a storage system, like a cabinet or a box to store things, you won’t regret it when the space is everything that you envisioned.

Clean Floors

Even though the space that you’re cleaning is enclosed, there is still enough foot traffic coming through that you can guarantee there is some dirt or mess on the floor. This is another quick fix that will contribute to the clean look of this enclosed porch. If you have decided to carpet this space, give it a quick vacuum and remove any debris that may have stuck around on the ground. You’ll immediately see a difference.

If you have hardwood floors or tile, start by giving them a nice sweep. If it’s needed you may also want to finish the process with a mopping so that the floors look extremely clean. This is usually necessary after a few rainy days when mud is tracked inside.

As a whole, this looks dramatically better when it’s done and you can count on enjoying the time that you’ll be spending there.

Wipe Down the Screens

The screens and frames that we use at Central Florida Screens are selected with maintenance in mind, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about having to clean your screens. However, if a storm has recently come through there is a chance that your screens may have gotten a bit dusty or have some leaves stuck to them. Luckily, this should be a pretty easy step. Give them a quick wipe down with a duster, moving top to bottom, and you’ll see that your screens are quick and easy to clean.

Clean up Furniture

When you have people come over, you want to make sure that the furniture that you’re going to have them sit on is dirty or dusty. From the chairs and cushions that you have out to the tables where you’ll sit down drinks and enjoy meals, cleaning this type of furniture can be quick and easy, but it’s a must. If you haven’t washed your cushions in a while, start there and make sure that all main pieces of furniture look clean and welcoming. Wipe down all surfaces that are susceptible to collecting dust, and immediately you’ll notice that the aesthetic of your enclosed space is completely different.

Doing just a few small things to the space can make a really big difference, which makes enjoying the space that you have, so much easier.
